According to Forbes’ 2022 list of billionaires, there are no billionaires in Kansas. However, there are many billionaires with ties to Kansas, including Charles Koch and David Koch, who inherited Koch Industries, one of the largest privately held companies in the world, from their father.

The Koch brothers were born in Wichita, Kansas, and the company’s headquarters is located in nearby Wichita as well. Other billionaires with connections to Kansas include Phil Ruffin, who owns the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and is originally from Wichita, and Neal Patterson, the co-founder of Cerner Corporation, a healthcare information technology company headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, which is part of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area that spans across Kansas and Missouri.
